Father and I are looking into adding a frame of sorts around the pillion area of the stock R seat. Something so that you may tie something down on the back. We're thinking of drilling a hole on the aluminum highlights on the rear and wrapping around the seat. We made a template with some old wire.

There are some beefy looking pots under those highlights. Thoughts?

Working on take two. Running into an issue with the metal possibly rubbing against the leather. Eventually eating it up.

We lost the corners and looks a bit uglier but we managed to clear the seat.

We weren't too convinced with the cuts we would need to make to allow the silver plates to slide back on.

We toyed with the idea of drilling straight though the top down into that other spot underneath and then place a ring at the top or something.

We might try it out if we find another set of those aluminum silver things we can play with. Not in the mood of buying a new set right now.

The current mount appears usable for short stints though. You just would have to go around without those silver things.

I’ve been working on a design for a rear rack that uses the bolt holes for the rear rack using M8 stainless threaded connector. Progress so far:

Have wondered about something similar for awhile now - will be following this with interest.
Seems silly that a rack/sissy bar can't be added/removed simply from the top (once removing those silver trim pieces). Triumph for whatever reason decided that bolting it on from underneath after disassembling the tail was the way to go
