Guys,
I need a rear tire for my 2022 GT and surprised I'm not able to find the original Avon Cobra 240/50/16......
Everything 'out of stock'........
I've spent an hour on the internet looking and can only find them in Italy for $550+(?) on ebay. Called my local Triumph dealer
and all they could say is "good luck". They said their wholesale source told them not available for the remainder of the season(?).
Does anybody know where I could pick one up (black market)?
The only alternative is the Metzeler CruiseTec. I've been told they're on the lower end of their offering (?).

Well....after reading other riders impressions of the CruseTec's and the Avon's not available, I decided to take one poster's advice and picked up
the rear Metzeler ME 888 Marathon Ultra Rear (240/50/16). My front Avon is ok for now(don't like mixing), but when I looked to eventually
replace with the Metz front (150/80/17), I noticed the 17 is rare(?). I'm now worried I won't be able to find one when the time comes. I didn't know if would be a pain to find tires for this thing. I'm now wondering if the Marathon 888's are discontinued? I was hoping to move to them.
There are some threads on this. Most of us use an ATV jack. There are two places indicated where you should place the jack, but I've found the bike is off balance and just place it where needed to lift both ends at once. I support with a strap from above for safety.

An alternative I've been happy with. A heat gun on the hugger gets you some more room. Or spacers as others have done. Rocky mountain ATVMC has some good prices. But I always look around
My buddy Vsteel has the Cruise Techs on his 2021 R3 GT. He likes them quite well. We even took this bike twice to Bonneville and got a record in 2024 and again in 2025 with the Cruise Tech tires on. Very good grip.
