An over reaction alright and only 'one" lowly protestor according to the TV at lunch time. G20 is for the paranoid and unpopular with big chest beating egos. What an absolute waste of resources (police) and tax payers money. With all those police put in one place imagine the void that there is elsewhere. Doh there's that logical side of my brain coming out again.

Protip from person experience : Don't follow closely behind the USA presidential convoy when they race down the freeway at 100mph+, using them to split traffic for you on your bike.

Been there, done that. Sophie Loren was in Sydney one time and heading under escort to the airport. I thought it was a good idea to tuck in behind, quick trip, all green lights, etc etc...

Dunno whether you lot have heard about it yet, but Oz is hoping that Russia will respond by declaring war on us. After we get thrashed, they will spend millions to rebuild the country for us. History says so.

Shouldn't take more than a week......
 
Same thing here ,a few years ago I tagged behind a Fire engine racing along Pennant Hills Rd in Sydney's north at 65KPH with lights flashing and siren screaming the cars were slowing up so the Fire Engine could catch up and pass then being held up behind the old Bedford P.O.S(never liked Bedfords) , so I sat behind him, next thing I was pulled up and Booked by the Police for travelling too close to an Emergency Vehicle , seamed like a good idea at the time

Going through Ulladulla one day, 60 kph limit, old ratty Rural Fire Service engine doing the same thing, sirens, lights, about 65-70 kph. Everybody pulling over to let him past.

Out the other side of town, 100 kph limit, STILL doing 65-70..... obviously flat out... still sirens and lights.... and a queue of blocked traffic behind him that was at least a kilometre long when I got sick of it and passed the lot.

Dickheads.
