Less noise by re-mapping?
Fellow captains, have a question for you. In Sweden we have a bi-annual inspection of our bikes and the sound regulations are quite harsh. The bike must meet a 93dB limit at 3000 rpms.
What I am thinking is closing the secondaries to ie 15% or 20% on all revs (currently at 100%) before inspection and returing to 100% after inspection. The bike will probably run like crap, not letting it to open up. This should be safe since looking at the 20226 I had in my bike before the secondaries are of course not open on all revs and at 3000 rpms they are closed a lot to meet noise regulations levels.
I am running TORs, 3xK&N, Cat by-pass. 20250 tune.
So my questions are:
Will this reduce the noise level a lot?
Can I damage anything on the bike? I am not tampering with the A/F ratio so I should not run lean.
Why I am doing this?
Well, I don't have to change to stock pipes (not a big deal) but just knowing I can do this on my computer in less than one minute is kinda sexy and very appealing to me. Apart from that, everlasting glory
