I have 37 k miles on mine and have had the rattle off an on for about 30k miles. It goes off in the warm summer weather and back on in colder weather. It always goes off when the bike warms up.

No problems with my bike at all and it runs as strong as new.

It would take wild horses to drag my Rocket away from me and in to the shop for a long period just to seach out the cause of a noise. I prefer to ride till it blows up....then take it to the shop. That way the dealer can't say that I am imagining things and the Rocket is fine....

I imagine the rattle, or similar noises, have multiple causes so it is difficult for Triumph to say its this, or that, for all bikes that have that type of noise.
 
My bike has 32K on it and it makes all sorts of noises. I can't figure out if any are supposed to be bad or not. I have the TORs with the cat-bypass pipe so I can't hear a ****ed thing when I get on the throttle anyway besides the exhaust.
 
Get yourself a good pair of ear plugs and be done with it. I did have a rattle I thought was a heat shield and sure enough when I knuckled the D&D's heat shield it had an unsweet vibe. I bend it a tad until the knuckle rap test yielded silence.

I do hear lots of whirling, rat-a-tat-a-tat-a's, and ratcheting sounds, but all seems normal for my Rocket. After all, when metal touches metal a sound is made, whether we like it or not.

My Honda's sure let me know when THEIR running.

Where in the hell were you guys before I put the bike on the trailer. That's one heavy beast to load and UNLOAD!!!!! I had just about talked myself out of taking the bike in at this time due to two deciding factors, I didn't know how long they would keep it and the weather is perfect for riding. I read the replies from all of you and that was it. She is staying put for now. It has not missed a beat, idle wise, since I did the the 12 minute tune and other than the rattle, (which comes and goes and is worst when cold), runs like a striped ass ape. I still have plently of warranty left and if she going to leave home for awhile I'll do it in the dead of winter, if at all. I sometimes think reading some of the comments relating to R/3 problems that appear on these forums is like giving a hypochondriac an all expense paid vacation to a leper colony. I am going to ride her like I stole her and it's time to put the full face helmet back on anyway. I can't hear a **** thing when I am wearing one. Thanks for all of the comments and if she blows I hope pieces land in all of your front yards.
 

Which is it left or right...my tach had a noise develop but nowhere near the godawful "PCR". A screw holding the shell on had come loose. A tweak with a knobby phillips and now there's no rattle.
 
I have noticed a buzz coming from my tach and/or speedo too. This morning I heard yet another new noise from below. When I got to work I looked the bike over and discovered that the nut that secures the heel/toe shifter to the linkage was gone. I guess that is what the loc-tite was for. I'll keep my eyes peeled for it on the 7 mile ride home.
