I'm from the City of Angels... I am reading about the transmissions on the 06s and wondering if it has the upgrade...

Just take your VIN number into local Triumph Dealer , if upgrades been done by a Triumph Dealership (99% sure no one else would carry out the task) there will be a record of it mate.

Congrats on the low mileage '06.
Don't know if a transmission upgrade is really needed. My '05 is probably the best and smoothest shifting trans I have ever had. Better than VTX and Valkyrie and many others.

I think I probably have the same bike. Mine is a 06 Standard. Gloss black. Not much is stock on mine though. Mine does have the transmission upgrade.

I feared my 06 needed the upgrade when I first got it she would pop out of first on occasion even 2nd a couple times. I posted my concerns on this site and other owners told me to make sure to chunk(my term)the tranny into first and all should be good. It took me a couple weeks of city riding for shifting to become natural, the amount of time it takes to build up a good callous on my big toe. Now my bike shifts fine.

Thank Steve, I'm a little nervous about it popping out of gear under load at a critical moment, even though it has not happened yet... I will practice shifting with authority...
