I'll be riding from Augusta GA to ST louis, then completeing 1000 miles from ST louis to Spear fish SD
If you go to the website you can read all about the event, and If you choose you can sponsor me by submiting a donation TO FISHER HOUSE indicating me as the supported rider when you donate.

I guess I should clarify, 100% of donations go to Fisher House, I'm paying for all my ride expenses....including the Entry fee.. I typed the previous message in a hurry.

and if you don't want to participate please check out Fisher House for future donation consideration.

and feel free to wave at me as I go by or catch me at a fuel stop ( doubt I'll get my Longrange tank in time)

BTW all donations will need to be sent in before June 1st 2008 in order for me to recieve credit for the competition portion, after that they will still be accepted of course, I just won't get credit for the competition portion..

winner gets a small token trophy and has to do all the admin for next year!!

The Fisher House™ Program helps military families in their times of need. Supporting America's military in their time of need, we provide "a home away from home" that enables family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time -- during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. Our soldiers, who have made the commitment and sacrifices with honor to protect this great Nation have been sent to war to protect the American way of life. Members of Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association will ride 1000 miles in a 24 hour time frame, to raise funds specifically for The Fisher House™ Program.
We will be seeking sponsors to pledge donations which are tax exempt for our riders. The proceeds will be going to The Fisher House™ Program, providing assistance to the families and spouses of our wounded warriors while at the VA and military hospitals.
Your generous donation or pledged donation to each rider that request sponsorship for the 1000 mile challenge will be documented at the beginning of the challenged miles and at the end of the challenged miles. Verification of the rider’s completion shall be available through the C.V.M.A. web site.

the website looks better everyday, but the guy doing it is building it in his free time.

there are also address to mail in... if you think about it, throw my name in there somewhere as rider supported But if not, I'm happy that Fisher House gets the money.

I think If I solicit the most donations I get a prize of some sort from the group.. like a funny prize...t shirt or patch or something... Either way, I'll be riding...

Lets keep this thread going please... Like I said, If you can donate before June 1st Great, if not donate on your own anyway...If you live near a base at all look up Fisher house in the phone book and ask for a tour, if you can leave without a tear in your eye and without writing a check/reaching for your wallet your a hard hard man.

I'm not asking for much ( actually not asking for anything it all goes to Fisher House)

If you don't or can't give ( some of you old farts are on pension I know ) at least share the website with your buddies maybe then can toss some in the hat
