Thanks everyone for help so far. Its pretty cold here, -3c at the moment, so may be a while before my next update.

Hi, it 'feels' like a misfire. I open the tap and it has this apparent misfire but it does not happen on steady acceleration, overrun and deceleration, or strangely in any other gear.

Does it loose power or do you just go straight to hyperspeed?

It just momentarily shuts down and then runs again several times in quick succession until I back off the throttle then it runs fine. If I drop to 3rd or change to 5th it is fine. I'm baffled for an explanation. At the moment it's -5c here so not going to be doing any more testing until the sun shines again.
