Insurance costs

Yeah, like I mentioned, mine is £140 for a CBR1100XX. The Rocket cost the same. It's only fire and theft.

I used to do TPF&T , but because the price of today bikes and the standard of car drivers, I went Fully Comp.
As an after thought who remembers the monopoly Norwich Union had in the Republic of Ireland in the 80’s and early 90’s. The sneaky barstewards had signed a deal with the Irish Government, so they were only company allowed to insure Bikes! So someone in the U.K. paying a £100, over in Eire the poor buggers were stitched up like a kipper and paying over 1000% more than the U.K.!

I pay $130 a month for full coverage and that also covers paying for a new bike at what ever the current new cost is at the time of accident. I can see how where you live can play a role as crime is worse in some cities than others. I guess it all cokes down to how kuch risk they think you are of getting into an accident or getting it stollen because I do get a discount for keep it in a garage.

I had 7 bikes and didn't insure any of them, not required in Florida, and they were all older. But I bought one last new bike a few months ago, and had to insure it because I had a loan, $48/month. Not sure if I'll continue the insurance when I pay it off, planning to next month.

Here in the U.K. Third party insurance is the minimum required by law, ie no insurance your not allowed on the road! Plus we have to pay a road tax for the privilege of riding on increasingly pot holed roads.
Depending on your insurance company, the more security devices fitted, you do get a slight reduction in your policy. But they do like it, if your security devices are approved by a Security Institution called Thatchams.
At the moment I’ve not got an alarm fitted, but in the new year I’m looking at a tracker for the R111. There’s been some good results by fitting a tracker.
A Supercar hire business had a Lamborghini stolen, it disappeared in a container, turned up in Hong Kong, and they got the car back!
