That may be good news if there is another power wire and negative connection under the left side cover that is not used on the aux socket.
Unfortunately, I also have foglights installed so the one in the bundle of wires is probably already used.
My Garmin 550c, though not waterproof, does have "supposedly" 10 hours run time on battery (inside) so if worse comes to worse I'll just charge it up at night and put a plastic bag over it if it rains.
