Back in the late 70's when I used to drag race there was a local fellow who had a Sportster that would run 10.30's and hit the wheelie bar hard going into 4th gear. It wasn't a trailer queen either, he rode it out there wheelie bar and all. He also used to bring it up to the Bridgetown TT and run it in the grass drags with a hill climb tire on it. It always came down to him and a guy with a Kawasaki KZ 1000 also with a hill climb tire. Whoever got the best hole shot generally won. It was a Harley themed event so the Harley vs. rice was always a big part of the day. Ah, good times

A bike that doesn't vibrate apart, or when you get off of it you feel like your still riding it is a good motorcycle to have. I have never ridin a harley but I would think it would get old quick after riding it for one day and then turn around and have to ride it for another day. I know it's been done time and time but it has to be uncomfortable.

Most modern Harley's have counter balance shafts and are pretty smooth.

I'm not sure why people cling to the idea that they shake apart or cost serious bank. The big Yamaha cruiser costs around the same as a big twin harley and our rockets ain't cheap.

A friend of mine bought a 2010 Sportster and one of the foot pegs fell off before he got home from the dealership! Lucky he was close to home. How modern you mean like yesterday modern?

Another friend of mine has rode this same Sportster and say's he wouldn't have it. He said it was "loud and vibrated like hell".

I think they use locktight now.

B.S. they're still underpowered overpriced POS's.
Most Everybody I ride with rides h-d's and even the v-rods are slow
compared to my wifes Rocket...and hers is RED.
They KNOW they can't keep up with a BLACK rocket.

No, my Rocket is stock.

As far as the 127, I built the whole bike not just the pipes.

99% of Harleys ARE slow...maybe not the V rod but most Harley bikers do not consider the V rod to be a true Harley.

The VRod isn't a true Harley the engine is Porches brain child nothing to do with harley
