Living Legend
From discussing with locals it appears that truck traffic has declined significantly over the past year. NC did erect signs discouraging truck traffic but, of course they are only seen by the northbound truck.
The few trucks that do end up on the Dragon will get a volunteer "pilot" motorcycle. If you approach another rider signalling you to slow down, by all means, heed the warning and slow down.
I somewhat disagree with the notion that the trucks have the same right to the road as everyone else. Truck drivers have a responsibility to make sure their equipment is suitable to be on the roads that they travel. If they know that their truck will not be able to stay on their side of the road, then they should not be on that road. If they decide to continue, they should be ticketed and fined for their unsafe behaviors.
