In shooting for those 200mph speeds, what are you doing about the gear ratio's? or are you just upping the RPMs to get there?
No bike I know needs a sixth gear like a Rocket does, I'd trade her in a heartbeat if the roadster had an extra gear. ;)

I'm dying to see that monster you're building run, I sure hope you have a digital camcorder.

Ya I wish I had a different rear end, then there would be no need to turn as many rpms. But alass I love to feel the grunt out of this motor. :D

O.k. I'm way out of my league reading in this performance forum but I have read your comments a few times and I have to ask. You mention running your rocket without second gear, isn't there parts or shavings, or something flying around in there somewhere. I am fascinated with the idea that you run that rocket to its limits and it keeps on going. Mine will probably never see the rev limiter. I'd like to do the supercharger thing if I had some money to spend, not that I could do it justice but, like some of the guns I have, its better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. Its cool to read about someone pushing the envelope with a Rocket.

I was worried about the inside also so I droped the sump and took a look see could not find any trash I cut my filter open every 4k when I change the oil. The dealer told me to run her till the weather turned to **** and then bring it in. My upgrade kit is there on the shelf. And your right there are a few of us here that push the bike or maybe were pushing ourselves. Eitherway its a blast, I can't explain the rush when you above 150 its just wild. I also like the grunt so I guess that makes me a torque monger:D

I noticed on another recent thread, floorboards i think, a photo of you and your bike, (assumption) Do you race it with the windshield, bags, deflectors, etc.????? Just wondering?????? Or do you remove them when you go to the track? I would think it would affect lots.

The bags come off quicly but the windshield does not. I am looking into trying the sport screen from Triumph for better aerodynamics. But to be honest I don't officially race mine much at all. I just ripp sportbikes up on the street. The only time the winshield is in my way is when you get a gut of wind above 140 and well the death wobble starts. I will be installing a steering dampener on this next tare down.

When I ran mine at the track, I tried it without bags and windshield then put them back on to see if there was a big difference. It only slowed it down a couple tenths in the quarter, the other riders got a big kick out of that.

You guys sound like some CRAZY sons-a-guns. I would love to see the looks on people's faces when you smoke those other bikes with what must appear to be a cruiser. Thats one of the beauties of the Rocket, It can be whatever you want it to be, ****** rocket, cruiser, sporty, whatever. I guess I would be surprised if someone like Evil Kneivel started jumping cars with one.........................................wait, I take that back, I don't want to be responsible for putting ideas in the heads of some of you thrill seekers. Seriously tho, I would be interested in what other bikes, if any, are giving you guys some competition. All the bikes I have riden in the past I always had the feeling that I was in charge, with this Rocket I bought, I feel like it is in charge and I'm along for the ride. CUDOs to you fellas that have, I don't want to say tamed, but trained the savage beast, so that you are in charge. I'm not the most experienced biker, (some dirt bikes when I was young and my Triumph America the last four years) but I am going to see if I can be in charge of thee Rocket once in awhile this coming year. Am already thinking about exhaust, and intake modifications. I have been reading alot of the threads from many experienced riders on this site and I am definetly addicted.

Rockets do fly I can atest to that. I have had a few times when mine has left the road at speeds over 120 its not bad but now the landing part can get hectic if you don't get control. I learned to judge the pavement a little better as I want both wheels on the ground.
You'll get used to her then you'll start down the when is enough power enough.
I know I am getting close with this one as I still want a street bike.

BY reving the engine and increasing the HP you can raise the top speed to over 200mph if you dont get blown off
