Howdy all. Has been a long time between posts.
Recently read an article in the local paper in Australia about an old boy getting around on his Triumph Rocket 3 with 275,000km which is 170,000miles on the clock. It did not mention any problems along the way The rider stated it was the best bike he ever owned.
A local Triumph Rep interviewed said he had recently been at a dealers and saw one in for a service with 190,000km -118,000 miles on the clock. Sounds like if you get a good one they will certainly go the distance. Australia has the climate for riding all year round. Even still 170,000 miles not bad for a bike that only came out 5 year ago.
Cheers Mav

63,000 miles for me, no problems to speak of, great to hear of one out there with 170,000 miles. Not much stress on that engine, 3k rpm at 80 mph, that just a stroll in the park.

I'm at 43K now with no mechanical problems whatsoever.. :) Just had to replace the primary TPS a while back, but other than that.. running good.. :)

The symptoms started as a random 2000RPM idle that I couldn't always duplicate. Then it progressed to not being able to maintain an idle after decelerating. I would pull up to an intersection and have to monitor the idle with the throttle so the bike wouldn't die. Sometimes, after a moment of monitoring the idle with the throttle, the
bike would eventually start to idle on it's own. Mostly just random idle issues that started occuring more and more..
