Hi from Cairns - QLD

G'day and welcome. It is not hard to take the tacho apart (but it is a bit harder putting it back together), so it may be worth checking that it is clean and dry inside. If there is dirts etc in it then the high humidity in your area could cause a few problems.

I took it apart and cleaned b4 handing over to a instrument fitter, he thinks its a component on the PCB and covered in epoxy.

Basically the same, would stick then a couple of on/offs on the kill switch and ok...but now sits up around 7k with little movement

When yours sticks, do the warning lights work? Mine would stop working but if the one was on at the time the tacho stuck such as hi beam or indicator, they'd stay lit, even with the key turned off. Blinkers and everything else worked as normal and bike ran fine. I got the lights to go out by disconnecting the battery (only for a second) and then the tacho would be back to normal in the morning.

Only the tacho is faulty (atm anyway)...Thx 4 the reply

Welcome from Germany!
Your ears and the seat of your pants make a great tachometer! As for the indicators, they don't stand out enough to be useful anyway! If she starts sputtering, you need petrol; white smoke from front she's overheating; use the dipstick for oil (though mines never burnt any)....what else is on there? I really don't know and I've had it for 7 years?
Enjoy the ride ;) !

Ok im slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww but welcome, will you be heading to RDU Victoria in October ?
