Just wanted to give a shout out to Hermys in PA for all their help. Short story long I want to replace the windshield on my 98 Trophy 1200 due to cloudiness. I did the polish thing and it's way better than what it was but still not as clear as a new screen would be. So I ordered a new screen from Hermys and they obliged with an OEM screen that was supposed to fit, only it didn't. So I called about exchanging that screen and they were only to happy to help. After much discussion they determined Triumph's parts fische was not up-to-date and they called Triumph directly. They called me back and said the part numbers were updated and that they now had the correct part and it was the last one in stock. Whew! OK, it showed up yesterday and it's the same screen I sent back but with a different part number. The issue is the screen I need has 11 mounting holes drilled into the screen, The two shields they have sent me thus far have 9 holes. Today I called again to say the screen I just got has the 9 hole pattern and I still need the 11 hole pattern screen. That caused more searches of the parts fische and instead of looking up the part number by year and VIN he started looking for the number of plastic screws required to secure the screen to the fairing cockpit. Indeed he found the parts they had been finding based on the year and VIN were all 9 hole units, but when he looked at the cockpit shields he found 11 holers as well. He says those units are still available and was going to order me an 11 hole unit and when they got it from Triumph they would contact me about returning the last screen they sent. Good folks to work with, recommend them if you're wanting customer service. As you can see mine has 11 mounting screws.

Your experience was better than mine. I called to order some clutch parts recently (I like to speak to someone if possible) and only got a machine. Oh well, went to the web site and ordered the parts but when I tried to complete the transaction it said I had an unrecognized address?? I live in a house that has had the same address for more than a hundred years!
It asked me if I'd like to continue with the order anyway but I declined. I don't want to order parts if they can't tell where to send them.
I called them again and got the answering machine again so I left a message explaining what happened and asked for a call back. Two days went by, no response.
I finally went through the online ordering process again and this time it went through. Ten days later I had my parts.
I'm glad you had the service you describe. Maybe my experience was not usual.

Possibly an anomaly/. I did get a voicemail yesterday when I called, but was called back maybe an hour later. The guy I talked to is the same Triumph parts guy I originally ordered the windshield from so he was very familiar with what I needed. I liked that he went to the trouble of contacting Triumph to get clarification since the replacement shield he originally sent wasn't correct. If you look at their website for Trophy parts you'll see them divided by VIN numbers. Oddly it's the same VIN numbers regardless of year of manufacter. Confusing since VIN's are typically sequential. Included a couple pics of the different shields over model years.

So was it T2300979 or T2300952?

I reckon T2300952.
There are quite a few screen part numbers for the Trophys with VIN greater than 29155.
Some will be tinted with various size options too I presume.

The 952 is a nine hole as well as the 979, neither fit my fairing. Also they changed part numbers somewhere in there and that's the rub. YOu have to look at the screens from the number of fasteners to find the 11 hole units. The original screen Hermys sent was a 979, the one I have sitting in the shipping box is a 952.

Update:

Got the next iteration from Hermes yesterday afternoon. Pulled it out of the box this morning and counted the mounting holes and it was eleven. So I placed it over the old one on the bike and the screw holes matched up and that led to removing the old cloudy shield and installing the new one. Looks better, I can see through it:
