Helicoil blues

I was happily applying the required torque on the lower stud on the starter motor and this happens just asking as I can't find any info of the required oversize helicoil fitting for the M8 now as it seems to already have one fitted? or maybe not? as it has an outside circumverence of the same measurement

When a bolt is tightened to much When it comes out it will sometimes bring out the threads also .
If that will crumble then it is aluminum threads.
As a guess I think it might be m 10

It hasn't crumbled it's like a light spring I was thinking it's been done before for that reason would need to be oversize hopefully the pic would explain better cheers

Hello Kevin that neg strap runs to the minus on the battery I think if I rember right I diverted it there after seeing a post on here after I refurbished the motor a while ago, either way it works just fine with an extra relay

Its called a "Direct Connection."

When you rely on a Chassis as 1/2 of a Battery Connection/Circuit, you're inducing resistance into the circuit, which loses a little power along the way (amps).

For high amperage circuits, its more efficient/effective to run connections directly to/from the Battery/Solenoid.

Ok guy this is a no brainer
That is not a heli coil. A helicoil is made of steel and is magnetic so you can check with magnet.
Also you can check to see if you have lost the threads in the case. Now someone has put that stud in there so it may or may not be the correct threads. I will pull mine and give you the correct measurements.
To long and it will rub or lock up parts to short and it will pull the helicopter
This you can carve into stone.

If what I think is going on I am going to need you to answer every question the best that you can.
When I get your feed back then I will explain. In the mean time I will post picks of the m8 bolt the is stock.

Your first pic sure looks like a Helicoil that's been ripped out, your 2nd pic looks like threads on a bolt or stud, you said it's a stud. So you have a stud there when it's supposed to be a bolt? & the stud & helicoil have been ripped out. Have to go bigger, if it's an M8 stud that came out, look to get a M10 helicoil in there & be careful.

Lare to the party, but that's definitely not a helicoil, it's flat on the outside, not sharp to fit into the rethread. That's the raised part of the thread in the block, pulled right out. I would think it's a simple fix, drill it out to the next size, I think they sell them as a kit, the drill, tap and helicoil
