Hagon Question

I will call Hagon on Monday, I am 12 st and ride solo mostly, my only issue is with the alloy spacers they have fitted on the rods under the rubber bump stops they take up about 30mm of travel, cant see them fitted on others, even Hogweeds 290mm shocks he has for sale doesn't have them, wish I had bought his now.

Here you go, I can push the rubber up to the damper before riding and when I check it afterwards it is sitting back on the spacer so I know it is using all the travel. This is with the preload ring half way down the threads.

Spoken to Hagon this morning and they confirm the spacers should not be fitted, they are fitted to restrict damper travel on some bikes to clear the fender, they are sending the correct shocks asap.

I said there was something wrong and that they are great people to deal with... you'll be a happy bunny when the new ones are fitted... getting the rears done is the best mod, followed by cat removal! 8)

Steve - I just spoke to Hagon this morning (and leaving aside the fact that they said again that they supply all Nitros the same for Rockets no matter what you specify), they said to do the same as you have done and push the rubber bung up the rod until it's butting up against the cylinder. If after a typical ride it's about 2/3 of the way down the piston rod then the shock is fine ..... but it was awful easy to push it up the rod - isn't there a danger that it will jiggle itself down to the position shown in your photo under gravity alone?

Dont think it would drop down without being pushed Mike, being new its pretty tight on the rod, I am sure when I get the replacements back without the spacer I will be happy with them.
