As others have said, the throttle sticking is definitely your primary TPS. get it fixed ASAP as it can be sort of dangerous riding it as it gets progressively worse. The update kit is a batch of corrected components, selling for about $250 that replace a number of internal parts that sooner or later are nearly certain to fail. The engine has to be removed from the frame and cracked open to install said bits and that will run about 14-20 hours of shop time (rough estimate, $1,500) for the full install.

Sorry to be the bearer of news you should have ferretted out before making the purchase. If you can trace your Rocket to its original owner, perhaps you'll get lucky and learn that he already put the kit in. Good luck with that... I really hope that you got lucky!

Welcome to the forum,glad to see someone who lives under 100 miles of me. All my dealers down here have either retired or gone out of business, curious to see if your happy with your dealer. I saw a dealer near Max's BMW wasn't open when i rode by.

Thank you. There is a new one just outside Concord NH but the one I really like is Great Bay Motorcycles in North Hampton NH, Don is awesome and an amazing wealth of knowledge. He is the person who sold me my Sprint back in 05. Great place. That's the place down the street from Max BMW.

Don't care for the service I received from Second Wind BMW in Merrimack/Nashua. LONG story there but at least Triumph backed me up.

No Falcon its the primary TPS sensor you need to order a new one and do a Full ISCV reset and she will be fine. Two questions one you said yours was a 07 tourer does it have a silver engine? and two where in NH are you up north near Berlin?

Thanks. Yes, I put all those miles on my Sprint, I was present when they uncrated her and loved every minute in the saddle, even those times waiting for the hog crowd to catch up.
and nope, nothing changing with the Rocket either.

with the right software and a laptop you can do it yourself. Otherwise it will have to go to the dealer.

Can you please point me in the direction of this "kit" and what is supposed to fix before my new love self destructs. I'm going to be a little PO'd at Triumph for not recalling an obvious error and making us customers foot the bill for their errors. I can only imagine what the hog riders will say. Ugh.

Anyway, not happy about the TPS sensor replacement as that should also be a Triumph recall.

Time to start digging into the info on this bike and find out if any upgrades were added.

Falcon there are plenty of 04 and bikes up to the secified engine number that have not had to have the update kit put in them so do not freek out (It is a update kit not a upgrade kit and the reason some bikes do not need it is because they were put together by a Tech who cared mor the some other techs) . Although for the price of the kit it is worth having on the shelf for insurance purposes. Just lie there are plenty out there that have not had the TPS go bad. its a 125 dollar part and well rehostat's do go bad over time and also just wear out in areas that get the most use. Its about a 15 minute job to change one and set it with tune boy (I am not sure about tunecu but I suspect its about the same time frame) so do not let that bother you.
May I ask how many miles are on your bike?
