GIPro and Dyno

I am going to have my bike dyno'd after I install the new PC-5 I ordered. If I decide to install a GIPro later, will It interfere with my dyno settings?

Are you going to use TuneECU to copy the I Tables and open the secondaries before you dyno? If so, then the GIProis a waste of money. and it won't make any difference.

if your not using TuneECU to do the above, GIPro will make a difference because it fools the ECU into thinking it's in 5th gear all the time which uses a different ignition map and has the secondaries open 100% at low rpms and closes them at high rpms.

I have already installed the triples and removed the secondaries while I was at it. I will be installing my PC-5 next week when I get back from a business trip. Then I plan to have the bike Dyno tuned. In other threads, a lot of people say that GIPro is excellent, so I will take their word for it. I just needed to know if I should put it on before I have the bike Dyno tuned. I'll take that as a yes.

Since the GiPro doesn't alter anything but what gear the bike thinks it's in it makes no difference if you put it on before or after.

GiPro requires no changes to the bike at all.

I would like to smooth out the low speed throttle control, there is some jerkiness i would like to get rid of.

pcv is for adjusting the fuel for the bike.

the gipro changes the ignition map used by the lower gears by making the ecu believe it is in 5th gear all the time. it also allows more air at lower rpms in the first 3 gears cause the secondaries are 100% open.

tuneecu does all of the above. but finding someone to tune the bike using it is extremely hard depending on where you live.

The map you load into the PCV will alter the fuel flow. or if you have the AT, it will adjust it depending on your A/F map.

there are two advantages of the PCV:

1. Almost any dyno shop knows how to tune it.
2. If you add the Auto Tuner, you set your A/F table and it tunes it for you.


I use PCV w/ AT for the trim map. I then update tuneecu with the numbers then set PCV trim map back to 0. This is for adjusting my normal riding range RPM/TP. I dyno'd the WOT for max power & torque using tuneecu.

Remember, the GiPro only opens the secondaries 100% IF they are open 100% in the 4th or 5th gear programming. Might as well just remove them anyway.

right. the 11 r3r closes the secondaries at high rpms in the high I map.
