Rocket iii roadster
Hey guys, new to the forum and I'm enjoying the great reading. Does anyone kn I will how to get rid of the top end govenor on a 2014 Triumph Rocket III? Was thinking about the GI PRO W/ATRE but I recently purchased the ecu cable. My nearest dealer is 4 hours away and they don't seem to know much of anything. Help!! Thank you for your time

good morning you might want to go to (introduce yourself ) and tell us a little about yourself.
with the tune ecu you can raise the rpm to 6800 and mph. i just set mine to 150 mph. thats as fast as i want to go. thats on my bike dont know about 2014

Thank you for the info . I will do that as soon as I figure this all out :). I'm gonna have to do some homework on this tune ecu and figure out the workings of it. Thanks again

Is this tune ecu hard to figure out ? Do you have to pay for using it? I basically am just installing a ramir and want to get my top end govenor gone. I don't know if this program also gets rid of the timing retarder.

The software is free. You'll need a $20 cable (lonelec is very reputable). You can set your speed limit to 250 mph if you want. Adjust your fan kick on temps, etc. Unless you're an expert, I wouldn't mess with the A/F tables. You can disable the O2 sensor and remove secondaries via tuneecu. Best is to just upload a tune for a similar setup until you finish your upgrades and can have your bike dyno'd.

I have a '14 R3R and have the same setup so far. I removed the air intake and put on a RamAir. Still deciding on exhaust so that's stock for now.
  1. Go buy this cable: http://www.lonelec.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13&products_id=32. It's cheap, comes with an adapter for cell phone use if you choose, reliable, and will arrive in about a week.
  2. Download TuneECU to your laptop for free or to your Android device for ~$14 (much easier).
  3. Download the "Domination Tune o2 On" from @Claviger (will also delimit the bike's top speed). http://www.r3owners.net/threads/tune-for-a-stock-r3-developed-on-a-roadster.20552/
  4. Back up the stock tune from your bike, then upload the new tune into it. Very easy to follow the instructions.
  5. Do the "12-minute tune" where you start your bike up, don't touch the throttle, and let it idle for 12 minutes after the radiator fan has come on.
  6. Go have fun.

Welcome. You came to the right forum. All these guys are great and have been very helpful with my tech questions as well. definitely take alpental's advice and get the cable from Lonelec. I purchased a cable from Amazon and it did not work. I then purchased the Lonelec cable, followed their directions and it worked perfectly. It only took 7 days to arrive to me in the USA from London.
