Rocket X Roadster 2015
My 2015 Rocket Roadster X, just over 10,000 miles and the gearbox is er...has stopped working.

It all happened in one day, having travelled about 30 miles.
Closing the throttle in 2nd, whilst approaching traffic lights and roundabouts, caused a rattling noise from the LH side of the gearbox. As it became louder, I could feel the vibration through the LH foot peg.

Rang Triumph, they said bring it in.

A short distance into the journey and all hell broke loose. An huge noise of crunching was caught by the microphone of the GoPro camera.
The run up to it happening, shows that the bike was was running well, apart from the 2nd gear rattle at roundabouts. After it happened, I couldn't engage 3rd, or 4th.
** The video wouldn't upload here, only 40 seconds in length, but too large **

Luckily, the M6 was v.busy and the matrix signs were mainly held at 40mph. 2nd gear for 40mph and 5th for 60mph.

Booked in for two days next week, for a complete strip down

That plain just sucks. I hope that you get it fixed quick!

Thinking if they don't keep honoring warranties and working with customers on out warranty repairs a class action may be in order.

This ****s getting to be a once a month, like clockwork, occurrence of someone's 2012 or newer R3R tranny eating itself.

Sorry to hear this about your gear box. Hopefully they will get it fixed quickly. I have just over 25,000 miles and so far other than a leaking valve cover gasket have not had any problems at all. Had a issue with a back tire installed by a dealership but that been about it. I would be very upset if this would happen to my bike.

And it will be interesting if they admit what is the problem, and to have you report it here, please.
Yes, indeed! I'm also hoping to take some photos, if they'll agree to it. They're generally very good at Triumph Birmingham, but something like this could rock the boat a tad

Mine has been trouble free, until now...oh and the time it stopped dead in it's tracks, due to a faulty Red 4 alarm, that no-one mentioned had been recalled...that was annoying!
I have learned how to remove and replace my wheels, as I heard some dodgy stories, about the methods used by a local tyre emporium

My 2011 Touring has had some sort of hernia making all the pre catastrophic failure noises from the gearbox clutch area, if it was thrashed I could almost live with it but I have nursed the bike since new ever mindful of my motto you break it you pay for repairs so it is off my Xmas card list to say the least ,
