gas vent line siphoning gas out

Has anyone heard of a gas tank vent line siphoning gas? I smelled gas most of the time when bike was parked. Called shop they could not tell me anything. Smelled gas tank vent line and could smell gas. Later the same day at work at the end of my shift I noticed a small place on asphalt where gas had leaked or been siphoned out and I had put 89 miles on that tank. Then I noticed 2 other spots where gas had leaked previously. A couple days earlier I had ran out of gas at 118 miles. Got any ideas? Called shop told them story they don't have a clue.

I may have solved my problem too soon to tell yet but I found one of the vent lines to the gas tank was plugged. I just took a piece of tygon tubing hooked it to the vent line and blew in it wah lah found the clog ran a wire through it and unclogged it. hopefully that will solve my problem
