OHHHH i advise you to look into why there is a massive car parts manufacturer that just gave up the ghost and took out basically everything in its path. Just look up First Brands Group. While i cant say directly what tire makers are effected, there are some and a LONG list of great cheap tires for cars just this year left our market for good.

I purchased a front Avon Cobra Chrome 2 weeks ago from Summit Racing. Surprisingly at a very compeative price. $188 plus tax and shipping $209 total. I went with the 140/75R17 as I like how it helps make handling much better. Then just a few days ago as I was visiting my local Triumph dealer we were talking about how hard it is to come by an Avon tire. The parts man told me he had one on order for a year and a half but finally got it recently. He said he was not sure if it was a front or rear. I said please show me. WOW ! It was a rear tire. I offered $350 for it and he said YES. DOUBLE WOW !! Praise the Lord Jesus.

New rockets still shipping with cobra chrome, i wonder why no stock available.
If I bought a new bike and couldn't buy a replacement tyre e.g. if I got a puncture, I would not be happy!

The new R3 bikes in our area are coming with the Metzler CruiseTechs. They are actually pretty good tires. Nothing like the old ME 888 tires.
