Hell mate, knowing Triumph it could be different from one bike to the next during the model year, just like the oil sump plate on '05's. You are probably on the right track with measuring the tube and checking. Do those bars "neck" down to 1" (25.4mm) at the grip area?
Could anyone tell me please, what the length of the 1" grip and throttle area is to the "step-up" part of the t-bars, i'm guessing at about 200mm (8")
Cheers...
Chanderlierman, could you measure the length of the 1"grip bar to the 'step-up' part please? as i also have a 59 plate, depending on cost i'm going to get some made and dont want to start grinding them away..
Thanks Graham..
(see my previous post)
Your bike is looking good there Chanders m8, Soooo, are you going to start making any of the tbars yourself now :?:
the fabricator who was surposed to be making some for me hasn't got back so f*ck him....!!
Is that what you have to do when buying 1 1/2" bars? thats about 1/8" of an inch to be taken off.
Did you have yours specially made? surely the original Thunderbars must be supplied already ground out?
I think i was lucky just grinding 1.5mm and my bars are powdercoated satin black so i can easily touch in any marks.
I have got to make a 1/4" extention for the throttle side,i will incorporate this with an expandable bung[/quote]
Yes one off 1.5" bars, I had to grind out nearly 1/4"
for master cyld (which is also non standard)
