Exactly, they make a system "look" like a Race system.
No problem in a race application, but on a road bike doing a lot of miles the springs will allow movement therefore chaffing, which causes leaks.
This is exactly why I fully weld my systems. Also this means that you can offer the pipe up to the head in one piece. Simple.
 
I did not get any springs with my exhaust system.:(:(:(:(:(:(:( :p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

Never mind Sonny ..... spring is just around the corner :thumbsup:

Well....I recently dropped a new cam in my Scrambler and had to remove one header pipe so I could get at the cam chain tensioner. Having springs on the exhaust made the job (that part at least) very quick and simple.
