Fog in the manometers

Hi guys,

I'm a new owner of a Rocket, but in the first hour of riding the 2 gauges (Speedometer and RPM) start to show a little fog inside the lens.

It is normal?

Someone experienced the same?

Unfortunately, It's 2010 model that i bought it in 2nd hand yesterday.
 
Does it live indoors? - The rain in Spain/Portugal at the moment will get past a lot of seals.
You will need to let them vent to get that moisture out or it WILL do damage.
 
Grab the wife's hair dryer and give it a dry.

Might need to do it a few times before you get rid all of the moisture.

Last owner might have used a water blaster giving it a good wash before selling.

Yes it stays on the garage. I will wait for better days. Spain/Portugal are having a lot of rain.

I don't know how it is where you live - but here near Madrid it is also unusually cold. If you're not riding - remove the instrument cluster complete and put it in a sealed tin - together with a desiccant - Silica Gel would be the thing if you can get a lot of it. Otherwise use the "Antique Restorers" trick or POTATO FLOUR - this takes longer but is very very effective. Put it somewhere warm and dry.

The hairdrier trick only works if the ambient air is dry too.

Years ago I had the same condition on my 2010 occur. When I took the bike in for the valve check I mentioned it to the dealer. They contacted Triumph and was told that the gauges aren't sealed unit and to have moisture inside the lens is a normal condition. That it will dissipate.
What I didn't tell them is I got jack happy with the water hose while washing the bike. Since then I have not had any moisture build up since I don't wet the gauges while washing the bike.
 
What i have experiencing each time i go out for a run, is the gauges starting to appear some fog after some time of running. They are clear at the benginning.
It seems that the cold air enter into the gauges while riding.

Could be moisture that are inside from a previous wash and as i ride will be release it???? I have already done 400kms
 
The moisture is trapped inside - as you ride the electrics inside warm up the moisture and it condenses on the inside of the "glass" because it is the coolest part. The only solution is to get the moisture out. I have seen this on other Speedos. There are many ways to deal with the issue - But the longer you leave it the more damage the moisture will do. The fact you live close to the sea is NOT helping.

If you can find a way to get hold of these GORE® Automotive Vents - Adhesive Vents: AVS 44 (S), 98 (S), 99, 107 (S); AVS 97 (S); AVS 110 | Gore you can drill a small hole in the casing and keep it waterproof and vented. I have looked here and could not find any.
