Fall '09- Rocket launch - Maggie Valley

It would be great to go to either one. In the afterglow of RAA IV, the ones that went are eager to go again and the ones that didn't are eager to make up for lost time.

If we can avoid the first weekend in Oct, I'd be happy (work). Last couple of weekends in Sept would be great.

The way its looking right now September is the month.....Just seems like everyone can get the time off then.......like I said....we are in either way.

Don't know.
I can't post on their thread and as far as I know it just kind of died out.
Join their riders group and let us know.
Maybe that could be part of that regional thing Pig9r was talkin bout.

No, don't put anything on hold, I am just throwin' it out there. I don't want to take anything away from those that want to go back. I would love to go to MV but at this point in my life I can't get away that long. So maybe some "regional" events would be in order?
I've been saying it for awhile now. Regional events and the one with the means and an iron butt to match would make the entire route, at all the coordinated rendezvous, and gain a promotion from Captain to Admiral.

Either weekend Scowherd I'm game for. Maggie Valley was an awesome base camp although a more west side, versus southeast side, option would be more pleasing to me. The hour ride at gravity breaking speeds (the pack wouldn't get so broken) to get to here or there if the base camp were nearer to The Dragon and The Hellbender.
Now that I've done it/them I won't be bringing up the rear again. Thanks Ratboy and xhdskip for your patience.

I think he is planning a different route to ride this time Her3tic.......Not sure Ime just thinking ......I'll ride in the back I dont care....everyone knows Ime slow anyway......riding that is not mentally ,,,,,I thought I better clarify before someone said something smart....not that anyone would........:p

I am planning 3 rides 2 new ones that will be more senic and relaxed pace keeping the route we rode on sunday for those that want to clean the pipes. I will be adding a route on friday for thoese that want to get there thursday and get some additional riding in.

Now that I have had a chance to get to know a few of you I think I better understand the group needs. I have listed a Couple of things I was thinking about changing this time please provide feedback.

1) I will have a support vehicle with trailer, first aid kit, tools, spare gas, drinks and snacks for all planned rides. Any one that wants to do a ride along is welcome.

2) Mandatory fuel stops will be more organized and accommodating (more Pumps, with pay at the pump options)

3) More planned scenic stops for pictures, bio breaks, and hydration.

4) Large tent for gathering each evening.

5) I would like to include a all exclusive option for food for those that want to participate. Pay for room and food when you arrive this will make it quick in and out at lunch. All evening and breakfast be buffet catered by the holiday.

6) Provide beverage service for rooms fridge stocked with favorite beverage daily.

7) Optional ride for those that want to arrive a day early and ride Friday.

8) set up a bike wash station for captains that want to keep a clean bike. (rainman and sweet tenn. Are excluded there bike got there annual washing during the rain storm last trip)

9) I will be visiting Maggie valley this weekend to start planning your feedback and ideas will be greatly appreciated.
