Fall '09- Rocket launch - Maggie Valley

Day 1 Route Pic

Last stop on the agenda for day one, Waterrock Knob. Just imagine you or your rocket in this picture. This is an excellent place to watch the sunset only 10 miles from the motel. I will be posting a random picture a day until the event hoping to entice many others to join us .....

Parkway

Scowherd,
Went to Wilkesboro yesterday via 25/70 from Newport, Tn to Asheville, NC then I40 to Morganton, NC and on to Wilkesboro, NC by way of 64 and 18. For Rainmans sake was in rain for about 25 miles of the ride. Saw 3 of my friends with Tyson Foods that had shared trips with me to the western US and a couple of trips to Nova Scotia. We have ridden all of the states west of the Miss. except for Washington and Oregon. Planned trip for next August to Scottsbluff, Ne and up the Bozeman trail visiting the forts along the way. Reenactment of the famous Wagon Box Fight at Fort Kearny is every Aug. 2 the anniversary of the battle and hope we will be able to be there at that reenactment.

Came back through Boone, NC and then on the Parkway to Asheville, saw one bear just under the road eating berries. Arrived home abut 6. Are doing work on road on Parkway but hope is completed by time of the Fall Launch. Had couple of 15 minute waits.

alright ridinsunshine we will have to see which one of us is better that weekend
you are called sunshine so we will see if the sun wins or if the rain wins out for the rides :D
