As of today there are 13 rooms left. I will have to release the hold on the rooms towards the 1st of Sept. if you haven't booked and plan on attending please get your reservations in ASAP.

Fall - Rocket Launch - Route Day 1

Hot Springs Loop – Friday Sept. 25th

Depart - 9:30am
Return – 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Approx – 160 miles
Saddle Time – Between 4.5 & 5.5 hours

First stop is Fergusons Supply Store this is the start of the “Rattler” Great road a little narrow and some gravel in the road more challenging than the Dragon approx 24 miles to Hot Springs where we will lunch at the Smokey Mountain Diner and those that want to take a look around Hot Springs approx 2hr stop. We will then take 25 towards Asheville great road 4 divided most of the way with great sweepers all the way the perfect road for a Rocket. We will have a fuel stop in Ashville approx 20 min before getting on the Blue Ridge Parkway where we will ride approx 70 miles on the most scenic parts of the parkway. Suggested scenic stops along the way Looking Glass Rock, Grave Yard Fields, Second Falls, Devils Courthouse, Highest point on the Parkway, and Water Rock Knob where we will regroup and ride into Maggie Valley together Approx 10 miles. Fall - Rocket Launch - Route Day 2

Dragon Loop – Saturday Sept. 26th

Depart - 9:00am
Return – 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Approx – 170 miles Short Route & 240 miles Long Route
Saddle Time – Between 5 & 6 hours

First stop is in Robbinsville for fuel the short route will continue on 129 to the Fugitive Dam where the dam scene was filmed for the movie the fugitive. Continue on 129 until you reach the Deals gap motor lodge (the dragon store) continue on 129 through the dragon and past foothills parkway until you reach Tallassee store (stop for Lunch) ride back across the dragon a 2nd time and when you reach the deals gap motor lodge turn towards Fontana 28 (this is the hellbender) you will come to the hellbender pitstop if you would like to stop for hellbender souvenirs. Continue on 28 to Fontana Dam (follow the signs it is well marked) we will regroup at the Dam and return back to 28 and continue to 74 and return the same way we came.

Those that want to ride the longer route at Robbinsville will follow 143 (cherohala Skyway. Take the Skyway to Tellico Plains with a lunch stop at Tellico Kats Store approx 52 miles leave Kats and take 360 to 411 to 72 to 129 gas stop at Tallassee and continue the same route back to Maggie valley as the short route.

I knew in the end Bear wouldn't be able to stand it that I was going by myself on this trip. Not counting the fact that he is a worry wart about me, but he is lifetime biker that the open road calls to...At lunch Bear committed to go with me. So I will be calling the motel to make our reservations in a few minutes. So change me to RidinSunshine - 2

p.s. When counting Rockets I am sure you know this but Bear's bike is a Rocket also.

Excellent, I have added 1 more to your group. You all wont be sorry you came the hospitality is great and the rides a spectacular and the scenery is unbelievable I will have all the ride routes posted by tomorrow and will start posting teaser pictures taken on the routes until the event. Looking forward to seeing everyone in September.
