Exhaust Configuration - Stock and TOR together?

Not sure if this is a valid disscussion but something I am considering. Here in France the R111 is restricted to 78.1Kw or 100BHP (Approx) I have a UK full power Rocket which was running TORs but the local dealers refuse to work on the bike unless it is running standard exhausts - he also overwrites my Tune with the French restricted tune when he services the bike not an issue as I have TuneBoy and put my full power tune on in the parking lot :lol:

Questions is will it cause a problem if I run 1 TOR and 2 standard pipes to give the bike a bit or noise back but not that much that the dealer will notice (I know he can read the Not for Road use but hey it is in English and I am working on polishing it off).

How will this effect the engine management and would it work without having to change the Tune from Standard pipes?

Lastly which oneis best to run with the TOR - I was thinking the lower one on the right...

Find a new dealer.

You can run one TOR without any problems. I would suggest either the top right , which lines up with the bottom stock pipe, being shorter or the left one. You can run perfromance tune with this set up.

what effect would that setup have on a supercharged rocket i wonder ?

I tried mixing & matching standard cans with TORs, just to play with the noise. This was back in the days before Tuneboy. Tried 1 standard, 2 TORs and also 2 standard, 1 TOR.

Didn't seem to make any difference to my tune or performance. I just did the 12 minute tune afterwards, and all was well.

The sound obviously mutes with each standard fitted, but that seemed to be the only effect.

This was all with the catbox bypassed. Do the French insist on that being on as well?

I have the Cat Bypass so will swap out one of the pipes for a Tor and see what that sounds like.

Once I have the R111 registered in France I will probably put all 3 TORs back on as for the Dealer he is the only one in a few hundred mile radius so no reason to piss him off too much, once I am registered he will get the bike with TORs on and see how that goes, but the French do not have mechanical inspections such as the MoT in the UK so the dealerships police the LAW by being difficult if it pleases them. For tyres etc i will go to a generic Moto dealers who is less likely to be fussed.

It would also be nice to meet up with some other French R111 Captains but it seems they are few and far between nearest is RoRoRo but don't seem to be able to raise him.

I am having a right problem registering the bike due to it being a different Type/Varient than that which is exported to France ie I have a 2005 SE and even though I have an EU Cert of Conformance I cannot seem to get passed the French red tape... I hope to find out if my last attempt was successful on the 25th July f not well I will ride on UK plates and French Insurance.

You put TORs on and they won't work on it but they have no problem working on it with the cat bypass and standard pipes?

Trust us - French beaurocracy is an unimaginably tangled web of rules that are impenetrable by anyone who is not French. Probably by most French people as well.

There is no getting round their rules either. Completely intractable.

A lot of the H-D crowd get around ere with totally straight thrus and never get hassled as far as I know , well at least in Tasmania.
