last week I started having problems with my idle....
the bike will start normally, ride normally, but after the bike has warmed up some and especially after a few minutes of riding at one throttle position ( keeping at 2800 rpm for example) the idle will do one of two things...... it'll either:
1) stay up between 1500 and 2000 rpm steady ( was kinda nice when I had to get on to the highway..... 5th gear with no hands = 55 mph)
or
2) sweep from 1300 rpm -1700 rpm - 1300 rpm etc.....
usually if I shift to neutral after a few seconds it'll go away
I took the bike in for new brakes and a fluid change and asked them to check it out...... they couldn't get it to do it again, and the ecm had no codes stored in it...... no tps codes, no crank angle sensor codes......
no tuneboy, bike is 2005 and stock save for the jardines and secondaries removed......
if the tps is going it'll throw a code right?
what else could it be?
idle stepper motor? vacuum leak? demonic possession?
keep in mind.... I took my bike in for an oil change and brake pads..... I could probably do both of these myself but it would take all **** day..... that's where my prowess with a wrench ends.........
