The engine light came on while riding home, Low oil pressure also flashing although there is plenty of oil.... is this a common problem, and is there an easy fix....... Thanks in advance for any help on this..... rocket 3 2008

Check oil sensor on the back of the head, make sure the water pump is turning (this will also check the oil pump drive).

What rpm is the engine idling at?
What weight oil are you using, and how many miles has it been since it was changed?

if the light turned on you probably have codes. if you know someone with an obdII scanner you should have them read codes it might tell you whether it is oil or temp or both. a real good scanner or the ecu will probably give a freeze frame that tell how hot it was when the code set. if the eng got extra hot that might thin out the oil.

I get the same occasional flashing oil light, but I don't get the engine light. I had the Dealer look at it but they could not not find anything that would cause this issue and told me to "keep an eye on it".

Bump your idle 50-75 rpm or use thicker oil.

Is the oil they use in a new bike until the first oil change at 600 miles the same oil they put in after?

The reason I ask is because up until my first oil change I used to get the "blip" in the oil light while down shifting, and now I don't

They probably use dinosaurs for the first 600 miles then synthetics after that.
