Frustrated. Got the bike night before last. Great shape with 25k on it. Came from a dealer. Runs great but while sitting for a couple minutes in traffic at lunch the engine light came on and is staying on. Any guesses? Can any auto store read these codes or only a motorcycle dealer, or only a triumph dealer? That's 2.5hrs away... This sucks the fun out of the new ride for sure.

The ODBII connector is under the seat next to the battery. It is covered in black vinyl. Any ODBII reader will give you the code including the local auto parts store. Report back what you find out.

So I go out to take bike to auto parts store, start it up (this is the second time it's sat for 15min or so and then started with no change) and the light THIS TIME goes off. I'm stumped, scared, a little of everything. Back to suggestions as now I can't just have them read the code. :surrender: Can anyone tell me if these bike will "store" codes or does light have to be on?

Well a little more info. I was speaking with the dealer which sold me the bike... I never mentioned here because I never thought it pertinent but I had left the "running" lights on for an hour or so inadvertently last night. Drove to work this morning without a hiccup. Then was only riding a few blocks before stop and go traffic where the fan was running. He believes it was a "low voltage" warning. That's why after the return trip on x-way it charged more and went off on restart. I don't know but it made me feel better anyhow. :? He also said that if it's REAL issues... it will go into limp mode. Thanks all for your input and I think I'm gonna pick up the reader you linked tdragger just in case.

Of course the guys above are right but you should also know that when a error lights up if it is corrected after so many revolutions it will extiguish the light. This is most likely happend with the low voltage signal. You should also find a post by Bishop and download the srevice manual to your computer. It has a wealth of insight in it.

Oh and West Branch is that anywhere near Sandford/Midland area?

Warp: west branch is an hr north of midland/sanford. My aunt/uncle live in Sanford and my daughter/son-in-law in Midland. My rocket should see Midland often this summer. You know the area?
