I want to get my PC3 equipped Rocket dyno-tuned. There is a Power Commander Authorized Tuning center about 20 miles from me with the tuning link, named V-Twin Solutions. From the name I'd say they deal mostly with Harleys. There is another Center 100 miles from me, called Richmond Superbike. From your experience, what questions should I ask them when I first contact them? Just don't want to waste time and money if they don't know what they are doing. Are all Power Commander tuning centers basically the same? Thanks!

The guy I used is a Harley aftermarket shop. he was happy to have an R3 in the shop to tune-did a real fine job, too. About 2 1/2 hours and let me watch the entire time. Well worth it.

Just tell them what kind of bike you have, if they are familar or interested in a complete PCIII map and see what they would charge. I would ask the V-twin shop if they do many bikes with more than 2 cylinders. Otherwise it is just a matter of setting up their program for your bike. I would also make sure you set up an appointment and be there when they tune your bike, to make sure that they just don't load a canned tune.

I dyno tune my bike at a Suzuki dealer. None of the HD dealers in the area are interested in anything but HDs. Plus the HD dealers cost about twice as much.

It's a little far, but there's an awesome shop down here in Raleigh that dyno'd mine.

Iron Thunder Cycles....

They do a lot of custom work, and they've done quite a few Rockets.

Thanks for the tips, I called the V-Twin guy and he is only comfortable working on Harleys. He also said that the canned tune would be close, maybe slightly on the rich side. And he also was wondering why I would want more power than I had now.;) Seems he has had a couple of friends that had Rockets and high-sided them.
