Don't do this (another kickstand)

Harley riding friend of mine took off forgetting to put his kickstand up. After going about 50 ft. He went to turn left. Well I don't have to tell you in what happened. Now that he's out of the hospital he thinks it great you can't do the same on a Rocket. I can't believe Harleys don't have a side stand switch especially for a $30000 bike.

First reading I am like, " DON'T get off bike with kickstand down"?? Wtf been doing it wrong all these yrs!

My thoughts too.... It still states "don't try to get off your bike if the kickstand is down"..... gotta be pullin out legs.. that's it.

I generally shut my bike off by putting the kickstand down, it lets me keep both clutch in and brake on, it would seem odd to shut key off first

I’ve dropped a bike forgetting to put the stand down also just like when you were a kid and you let your bicycle fall over on purpose. These big motorcycles are a lot harder to pick back up.

I often do the same. So for have not forgotten to pull the key. So far

One of the perks of rural living, my bikes go months, even years, without the key being taken out of the ignition. Even local stores or bars, the idea that someone would steal your motorcycle is pretty far fetched, in both NY and Florida, at least where I live. Helmet hung on mirror, gloves on triple tree.

Like that for me in N. Florida, until at gym helmet stollen.
