I performed a search but apparently I'm either not good at using this function or this is a rare problem. I'm recently having more difficulty finding neutral. Anyone have this? Remedy? It will go first to second and back, but problem finding the "in-between". Thanks in advance for any help.

physically in the gearbox or just getting the N light on?

Physically in the gearbox. Clutch play is a good point. It was right, but I've been racking up some miles on this old girl. Funny, with my other bikes I rode my truck to work :?: Apparently this one is more fun

Getting neutral can be stubborn at times, at least for me. Got almost 16K on her now (...I know, I know but I have two other bikes as well that share my mileage accrued) and she's resistant sometimes.

Takes a fine touch most of the time to gently tap/push down/lift up into neutral. Sometimes she won't go there at a stop; still stuck in gear (1st) at a stop so you just let the clutch out a little; roll her slightly... grab the clutch and she'll slip into there (neutral).

Most of the time I'll slowly roll to a stop and easily slip her into neutral at the same time; though school of thought is to always leave it in gear at a light so you can quickly egress a situation if a cage is running up your ass at a light. Then you have to deal with the pulled in clutch for too long... extra wear on the lifter shaft because of it... got to find that harmonious balance between all of the risks....

A new Rocket will be hard to get into neutral. A Rocket that's aging will get into neutral easier.

Im not sure they get better about going into N with age,I think the owner gets better at judging it's moods.Mine can still be tempermental at 50000klms.
I use identical methods as you ,basically take the load off the box and use a soft foot to gently slide it into neutral.
Overall Im pretty happy with the gearboxes on these, they are fairly predictable.

It's a pain in the ass! Let's be real. The nuances of getting it into neutral piss me off! Yes, I live with it and can do it with fine toe/clutch manipulation but please don't tell me this is great engineering!
Bull**** is bull**** and the pain in the ass of finding neutral is bull****. Triumph should be ashamed of this and the overall clunkiness of the trans. Each time I downshift at low speeds, I can hear the bashing of gears...just wonderful! Shame on Triumph!

is there a alignment mark on the clutch liftershaft arm and liftershaft end like this one below?

if so where are they in relation to each other?
