Dead Battery

I had a job interview today that I missed due to a dead battery on the bike. I bought the bike in May and it has about 8500 miles on it. The only factor I can think is that it was about 30 degrees out. A half hour on the charger seemed to do the trick... I will recondition the battery tomorrow. I'm happy though that this has been my only problem so far.
Should I continue to have problems with this battery, does anyone have recomendations on battery replacements?
