It had great directions with pictures in a step by step manner so some should be able to install it themselves. It still would be a time consuming project even with great instructions. I have only had the friction type cruise controls or a wrist rocket in the past. They work pretty good but they can't be compared to an electronic cruise control. Lots of money for a luxury gadget but its as nice as the cruise in a new car.
