Dang son,
momma told ya not to get one of them motorsicles,
and here you are, laid up.....
Well, I hope you got some good pain meds out of the deal.
lots of good deals on Rockets right now.....
Glad you're still around even through the pain and skin (or lack of it)..
Get well soon and take it easy till you do.
Might want to thank the man upstairs too,
sounds like you got off real light.;)

Sorry to hear about that...I hope you heal fast and well.

Our guys are going down like flies...I'm in a car for now and probably the next two weeks...but I'll be taking my chances again when I get home.

Ride safe,

Dennis

Did Yellowstone today...was great till about 15 miles before 'Old Faithful" then it started raining...then a whole 2 minute show or so...I went 51 miles for that???

Luckily there was a lot of great scenery on the way in...plenty of "running water" and lots of motorcyclists were out checking their rain suits out for leaks.

+1 on that and be gratefull you were not pinned under her as she burned:eek:
Speedy recovery Brother:cool:

Thanks everyone!

I've not felt like getting on line, so it took me a bit to get back here.

I appreciate all the well wishes. This put a bit of a scare into me, so I might stick to reading about cycles a while...

Safety gear for those of interest:
Scorpion exo-900 transformer with the full face option on. Worked exceptionall well other than letting in a lot of dirty as I was tumbling through the hardpan.
Triumph jacket (not sure the name) shoulder and elbow armor was almost flawless. My right forearm got a little road rash. I didn't have back armor in.
Triumph Portland gloves. Worked great. no road rash at all. A couple fingers were twisted though.
Just jeans... road rash on my rear and both knees. Definitely a weak point.
River Road boots. I think they did their thing, I guess. My left foot was just fine :)

I honestly haven't seen any of the gear. My best friend took it home and I haven't seen it yet. They cut pretty much everything off me anyway.

My DroidX was in my front pocket and worked just fine afterward. I should send them a story and pictures and try get a commercial deal....

This put a bit of a scare into me.

Know how you feel. Glad i've had a month off the bike while me and the bike repaired. My crash happened when i hit a patch of diesel on a corner in the rain. I've hit a lot of stuff in the years i've been riding but nothing ever took the wheels out from under like that. First few days back riding were pretty hairy. Into corners i was wary and half waiting for the bike to let go again. Guess i've realised how fortunate i was not to be injured more than i was and just how quickly things can go pear shaped. Been back on the bike a week now and really glad it hasn't rained in that time. Wish you well on your road back to the road mate.

Crazy: Fire? I don't know, to be honest. The bike did take out a cactus and someone's mailbox. Maybe when it went over the mailbox it punctured something??

TC: good for you being able to get back out there. I won't even be walking in a month let alone riding again...
