Cost of Maintenance ??

I am frustrated with the maintenance costs, as well.

I rec'd 3 quotes from different Triumph dealers for my 10,000 mile service. This was already addressed in other posts, by the way.

The estimates were between $150 and $1500. This was based on the labor, if valve adjustments were required, at $65-$75/hour. I had a dealer in Maine do my 10K service for about $175--a simple oil change and "once over." The valve adjustment issue never came up, but that could easily have added $300-500 to the costs. Other dealers just assumed that the valves would need adjustment and quoted $1000, with a "hope" that the costs would stay at the $350 range.

Just ludicrous...

My 10,000 mile was less than $150.
Scheduled an appintment, and rode home the same day.
I asked about valve adjustment and other issues than might come up, and he said could go as high as $250, but it didn't.
Very dependable mechanic and shop.
