coolant

I started using Toyota Red coolant after the Mobil disappeared from the dealer.
It seems to tick all the boxes.

  • Factory-filled red fluid specially formulated by Toyota for Toyota vehicles
  • New generation ethylene-glycol based premium engine antifreeze/coolant specially formulated for all Toyota engine cooling systems
  • Helps prevent cold weather freeze-ups and hot weather boil-overs
  • Does NOT contain silicates that may harm water pump seals
  • Does NOT contain borates that may cause aluminum pitting/corrosion
  • Provides excellent corrosion protection
  • Contains ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, water, organic acid salt, and hydrated inorganic salt

[*]Protects from -34ºF to 265ºF (using a 15 lb. psi pressure cap)
[*]Meets all Toyota warranty requirements & ASTM Specs

The Toyota stuff is good also. I think as long as the coolant is Silicate free and free of any other abrasives, it will work. I buy the Honda M/C coolant, as I know for sure it is.

Hmm I guess I should take a look at the coolant for my TDi. G12++ is supposed to be one of the best available and it would be nice to only stock one item if it's good for both

I have the same stuff in my GTI. Not the easiest thing to find, I'd hate to have to go looking for some while on the road.

I use Engine ice in my all my motorcycles ,engine seems to run cooler at stop& go traffic condition but pricy though
Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant - Home

I've been using that in my R3T for a couple of years. My local dealer put it in all the water cooled bikes they serviced so I bought some. I don't think it makes much of a difference in the operation temperature, at least not that I've seen on a Scangauge, but I haven't had any problem with the stuff.

I am in Rexford, ID now and we stopped to have the clutch adjusted on the snowmocycle. The service guy here swears by the engine ice stuff, but also says the Honda coolant is good too. They carry both. They were booked solod so they dis not have time to drain and flush my system to put one of them in. I got a bottle of this other additive he recommended to top it off with till I can have my system drained and flushed when I get home. Brain burp, can not remember the name of the stuff and it is out in the chase vehicle with a few ounces left.

You guys are tougher than nails!!
