Yeah ,3 weeks but the Adelaide dealer says there are stocks in Melbourne and the aussie price is $250.Hopefully one of the WA dealers has one on the shelf.
All coolant overflow caps are rubber or plastic. If its overflowing to the point where its being pushed out the tank, then maybe it has been overfilled or there is another problem.
If it was meant to overflow and not be returned to the radiator when it cools, why have a tank? Why not justy extend a hose and let it dribble onto the ground like the old cars?
I have to agree it is not the best system I have ever seen.
For starters ,you need xray vision just to check the coolant on my tank, unless you take off the claw and peer down the filler hole.
My landcruiser overflow tank returns every drop and it never needs a top up in the 2-3 year intervals between coolant changes(it has a soft plastic cap too)
Had a problem at the 20000 klm mark where my bike was leaving a puddle of coolant randomly under the bike.Dealer replaced cap.Didnt fix it.Dealer replaced cap & radiator ,even though they pressure tested radiator to see if it leaked ,which they say it didnt.Problem fixed after that & I have no clue at all what was the reason, all i know is it doesnt leak any more !

The water pump is on its way from Melbourne after I ordered it yesterday and should be here today, 9 days without my bike is causing withdrawal symptoms.:eek3:
