cleaning of bags/windshield

Ok guys, this will be my first cruiser with bags and a big ole windshield

what is preffered method of cleaning the factory panniers?

and does anybody reccomed any special products for cleaning the windshield? I'd hate to scratch it all up.

dying to get home and ride the beast when I'm doen with my current trip.

You can use Lemon Pledge spray furniture polish and soft cotton cloth on windshields and faceshields until you get the good stuff

Sounds like good stuff, I ordered the starter/sample kit we will see how it goes.

A lot of good information, but I've got glue from the back

of a sticker on my windshield and i'm afraid to use any type

of solvent to remove it.Anyone know of anything I can use

for that. :?

I use stuff called "goo gone" it removes lipstick, gum, sticker residue etc. and isn't a solvent. made in USA in Cleveland. WWW.googone.com

WD-40, you can use it to remove any unwanted safety stickers from your bike too (such as the one on the tank).

go the googone route.I think I'm too late for the hair dryer.

I've never had a chance to test on plastic, i.e. windscreens, but as a long time commuter from LA to the central coast via the central valley of Calif, (bug haven) but I always used Bon Ami cleanser on the windshield and chrome of the cage. Saw that on "Shade Tree Mechanic" ages ago. As the product says, "It hasn't scratched yet" and it didn't. Great bug remover.

I would never have thought of duct tape or Bon Ami, I would

have thought the latter would be too abrasive, but what the hell,
