Changing my TPS... HELP!

I did try to search but didn't find precisely what I need.



I am about to change out the primary TPS. I have my tank lifted and it seems I need to remove the air intake to get to the connector. Is there a step by step for this somewhere? I don't seem to be able to get an Allen wrench on the 2 clamps under the tank (#6 in the picture attaching the two plastic manifolds #1 & #4 in the picture). It seems I need to get this manifold out to get to the TPS connector. I don't plan on doing the triple K&N thing (at least not now) so I need to get this stuff out and then back in.

Any suggestions?

There is no easy way. That is why some people go with the triple filters so they dont have to deal with the intake plumbing again. I still have it. Putting it back together, I made sure all the clamps were in a posistion I could get to them. Also I was able to get the TPS plug in a position where I could reach it without removing the plumbing again. But initially, it is as big a pain in the butt as ot looks like.

Be careful not to drop screws and their washers into the abyss. I tried to be careful but still managed to lose a screw and washer. Found the screw after some digging around and fished it out with a pair of needle nose pliers. The washer worked itself thanks to the vibration of the Jardines after I started the bike!

I first thought you had dropped them into the throttle bodies! lol Definitely becareful of THAT!

Good luck with the removal and replacement. I thought I was going to do the same thing when I removed mine (I did not replace the tps-- just was removing the secondary butterflies) and before I had it back together, I decided never again and opted for the trip k&n's. I am willing to pay a few bucks plus shipping for your defective tps. I would like to have one to test a couple of theories on. Please advise through a pm if you are interested.

Probably worth going through the pain of putting all that sh1t back in at least once. It's charter building, you'll expand your vocabulary while loosing a couple of hours of your life that you'll never get back and it will make the cost of triples totally irrelevant.

OK I have the new TPS in and TuneECU running with the cable connected. I have set the voltage to 0.6V but when I shut the ignition off and then back on I get a kind of pulsing sound from the front of the throttle body.. I can only assume it is the stepper motor but I'm stumped now. I'm totally p!ssed because I was so excited I had managed to get the ****ed TPS installed.

I thought my next big task was putting the air intake back but maybe not yet

HELP please.

I have now put the old TPS back and have the same problem. When I disconnect the plug going to the motor and then reconnect it, the pulsing stops
