Alright guys, a little help please. It must be obvious from previous posts (and I'm the first to admit) that I don't grasp the tech side of these bikes - I guess the universal language here is the grin - I'm looking for a little more rumble to the sound, but NOT the glass breaking volume produced with catbox and aftermarket pipes. It's not a performance issue (Iknow to get the full hp boost I would need both). SO, does it make sense to only do the cat bypass, and leave the stock pipes? Anybody out there done that? My dealer says it makes sense, but hasn't seen it done. Any input will be appreciated. :) :) :)

I had that set up for a while , makes for a better tone and a little more power . Nice set up . Have moved to TORs also as well , more noiseand power again .

you could always take a drill and drill some holes in the stock pipes.

I drilled 4 equal holes around the factory exit through the second baffle and it sounds better than stock, I'm still switching to Jardines ( well when gman gets back to me :) ) I kno whe is busy still.

BUT I'd be willing to bet that with a cat bypass it would sound awsome with a few well drilled holes.

The catbox replacement with the bypass pipes will save you 10-12lbs weight... The 20055 tune which rolls back the power limiters somewhat gives you most of the 20-23 HP kick according to my dealer... The 20055 tune goes with the cat bypass only or cat bypass plus TORS.... The 20055 plus cat bypass give you most of the punch... You only get 10-20% more with TORs if you want more sound and burble at idle....

Cat box and stock muffs.....126 - 128 hp.

Cat bypass and TOR's........136 - 138 hp.

Jardines and individual K&N's...146 - 148 hp (std. rating not SAE)
