@Steel & Art..So if one was to get the Tuneboy flash and Carpenter Brute pipe (with Ramair intake) what apprx/ballpark numbers (hp/tq) can one expect? Is the ECU flash the same tune regardless of what year Rocket you have?
I find it to be about as loud as a straight pipe HD , but with a much different tone. I had also heard that you could send your ecu into Carpenter and they could flash a new tune to it for $200 , I do need to check on that.
And that right there is the whole $##@$%%%^ problem. I asked CRP if once I had the pipe and filter installed, could I bring the bike there to have it tuned on the dyno. 'Nope just send us the ECU and we will load a tune into it and send it back'. So, they ain't going to let me pay them to tune the bike on the dyno. Wayne has retired so I cant truck it to 'Bama, and that pretty much covers anybody within 900 miles of here that knows squat about tuning Triumphs.
Bob needs to grind a cam that idle's about 1000 rpm's and has a thump to it. These things sound so weird at an idle, however they come alive with a simple twist of the ole right wrist. I guess I am just to used to that Harley and hot rod sound. These things are like a Dodge Viper, they sound kinda crappy (IMOP) but you don't wanna mess with one. I am trying to decide on a header for mine and the Carpenter is at the top of the list but....??? Who knows. These are by far the coolest bikes on the road, I love mine can't imagine the Carpenter kit in it!
