Preacher,
You might need new sprockets, chain and tensioner. That part of the bike still needs a bit of work!

IIRC they are not adjustable. I think they are of the spring and ratchet type. If so on many bikes when the tensioner is between teeth you will get a little rattle. We used to back one bolt out and slowly loosen the other until a click is heard. That means that the plunger has lengthened one notch. After that just tighten back down the bolts and ride. The chain will be a little tight for a while however.
 
Does anyone have a picture or a description of where these bolts are you loosen to get the cam chain tensioner to click a notch?
