My motorcycle insurance doesn't cover injuries of mine. My health insurance covers medical

Most states that's the case unless you have med pay. FL is just a freaking mess because of the no fault insurance. I'm viewing this accident similar to how Fl insurance works if you travel out of fl which reverts it to a normal liability policy. I could be wrong I'd have to research.

PIP Insurance?
When motorcyclists suffer injuries in South Florida motorcycle accidents, they often want to know if they can seek coverage under Florida’s Personal Injury Insurance Protection (PIP) insurance. However, because the law doesn’t require motorcyclists to carry PIP insurance—as it is only required for vehicles with four wheels or more—the coverage does not extend to motorcyclists, even if they also have cars covered by PIP insurance.

This means that it can be difficult for injured motorcycle riders to collect the compensation they need and deserve for their injuries following a crash. The good news is that because motorcycle riders are not covered by PIP insurance, they also are not limited in the amount of damages they may recover. If the injured motorcyclist was not at fault for the wreck, he or she can pursue compensation from the negligent driver who caused the crash and collect for their medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering, and their remaining losses.

Because these cases can be complex, it is wise to have a skilled South Florida accident attorney contact the other driver’s insurance company. If you have suffered an injury in a Broward County motorcycle accident, the attorney you hire can negotiate with the insurance company, protect your interests, and help you get the most compensation possible in your case.

Wow makes u realise our insurance system here in the uk is not as bad as we think.Even though we moan about the price and how long it takes them to pay out.99% it's the fault of the person who rear ended you and some companies even cover you now if you get hit by a uninsured driver

Please don't confuse most insurance in the us with that dumpster fire they call insurance in Florida.

Well if you believe in the eye for an eye method the just cut the leg off the car driver and give to the biker as a donor part or just a trophy. Don’t forget .to brake his collar bone and drag him down the road for a good rash. I’m afraid if tha happens to my wife riding behind me I’ll just unload the 9.

very sorry to hear the news; wish him a speedy recovery. Want to use this time as we get into the riding season the idiots on the road with their distracted lives are not used to bikes so we all need to be extra careful during the march/april months when many accidents occur.. lets be safe and always be aware of potential threats out there.

Cooter, so sad about your friend, hope he comes through it OK in the end. I was rear ended myself years ago, fortunately I wasn't seriously hurt.

Hoopla

You gonna get a kick outta this . . .
Also speaks to those thinking a rear end collision is a liability sure thing.

A few years ago I handled a crash where a Van (driver DUI) rear ended a young man riding a Yamaha sport bike.
The impact was severe enough that it impaled the motor into the front of the Van.
The AGATT rider was ejected off onto the roadway, receiving serious, but not life-threatening or permanent injuries.
The Van driver failed to stop, continuing on from the scene for nearly three miles before his Van gave out and came to a stop.
For the entire the time and distance, the motor remained impaled into the front of the Van.
Van driver claimed he was unaware there had been a collision and was surprised to find the motor impaled into his Van.
There were sight issues for the Van driver regarding his opportunity to see the low slung ****** rocket and he was drunk.
Guilty of DUI & Neg Driving - Not guilty of hit & run were the verdicts.

Note the rear tire/wheel ground down from the 3 mile ride.
