British Fuses Different?

The more I read the more it appears the difference between USA and British fuses does not apply to those made in the last 25 years. I think I initially read something by a person who misunderstood the issue himself. But it does make me wonder if the horrible times we in the USA had with Triumph and MG cars was due to us putting the wrong fuses in them. Were those cars' electrical systems as notorious in England?

BRITISH FUSES DIFFERENT

YEP, they blow too quickly because they are smaller and less powerful. :x3:

Does anybody here actually know for sure whether current British fuses are rated differently than fuses of the same amp we buy in the USA? Seems like a very big deal to me.

It would seem the confusion comes from the Lucas fuse from over 25 years ago , blade fuses bought here , in the UK or any where else in the world that are rated at a certain amperage will blow at or about that amperage. The standard is the same world wide .
